Who We Are
With roots back over 30 years, Sentinel Trending provides predictive maintenance, monitoring systems and associated services to many of Alberta’s largest and smallest oil and gas producers.
Historically, Sentinel has provided on-site machine condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and mechanical/ structural troubleshooting services in the form of on-site manual data collection and analysis.
Virtual Plant
Virtual Plant was developed over 20 years and is backed by Sentinel’s decades of rotating equipment, compressor and engine analysis services.
Virtual plant offers 3 individual, separable functions:
- It is a common industrial standard platform to connect already installed instrumentation such as machine control panels, condition monitoring systems and etc. to one common interface. It also is a fully open door to add any technology in the future. It is a place for any KPI (key performance indicator) producing technology. It consists of COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) systems only. It is as non-proprietary as possible and open. It utilizes cloud-based data storage and processing. It provides a technology path to the future. It is CSA/cULus approved for Class I Div ii installation, and can be installed in Div i by installing controller out of area (up to 100 m).
- It is a full function real time predictive maintenance platform providing any known predictive technology including full spectrum and time waveform vibration analysis, engine and compressor performance (real and theoretical), video recognition, lubricant/fluid condition, etc. It offers common predictive algorithms and trending/alarming. It also offers the amazing functionality of Sentinel’s cutting edge OsirIS pattern recognition system that compares all associated KPIs with all other associated KPIs, all the time.
- It is an open graphical user interface utilizing any available common communication technology (pc, smart phones, tablets, etc.) to/from anywhere on the planet, at any time. It allows open viewing/discussion by all stakeholders and unprecedented access to expertise, in real time! It offers real time selectable shutdown protection, monitoring and control. It can be embedded into existing SACADA and control systems, or vice versa; existing systems can be embedded into it.
Our services
Sentinel offers flexibility to meet specific client needs. Typically, our clients are plant/infrastructure operators. Sentinel will use ANY open market system OEM, system or other service provider to achieve the best result but never represents any party other than our clients. In this way, our success is directly tied only to our client’s success.
